Senior Backend Developer (Java)

Role Overview:

The client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer specializing in Java to support a long-term consulting engagement within e-commerce and system integration. This role focuses on designing and delivering robust integrations between a promotion/rules engine and an e-commerce platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build efficient backend solutions while maintaining high coding standards and deployment stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement backend integrations between enterprise systems, particularly within e-commerce environments.
• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with industry best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct thorough unit testing and validation to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Oversee and support stable production deployments, ensuring minimal disruption and high availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Contribute to system design discussions, ensuring scalability and performance of microservices-based architectures.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including solution designs and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and system performance.

Required Experience:

• Extensive experience in backend development at a senior level.
• Strong hands-on expertise in building scalable and distributed systems.
• Proven experience working with system integrations and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and modern DevOps practices.
