Senior Cisco SD-WAN Specialist

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cisco SD-WAN Specialist to provide part-time technical leadership and advisory support to the Infrastructure Network team. The role focuses on the continued development, optimization, deployment, and operational support of a global Cisco SD-WAN environment.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to service enhancement initiatives, supporting complex network operations, and guiding the team on best practices related to Cisco SD-WAN technologies. This position requires strong hands-on expertise in Cisco networking solutions, global network deployments, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical guidance and consultancy to the Infrastructure Network team on Cisco SD-WAN technologies and operational best practices.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement, optimization, and development of the client's global SD-WAN platform.
• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of Cisco SD-WAN network services across geographically distributed environments.
• Lead and assist with deployment activities, ensuring successful implementation of network solutions and upgrades.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and refine network service strategies and operational processes.
• Create, manage, and deploy configuration templates to standardize network implementations and streamline operations.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for Cisco SD-WAN-related incidents and performance issues.
• Coordinate with Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and external partners to resolve complex networking challenges.
• Support the integration and management of switching, wireless, and industrial network environments within the broader infrastructure landscape.
• Provide technical expertise during global rollout projects and network transformation initiatives.

Required Experience

• 9–12 years of relevant professional experience in enterprise networking and Cisco infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience supporting and managing large-scale Cisco SD-WAN deployments in global organizations.
• Extensive experience in network operations, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• Relevant Cisco certifications and equivalent industry experience will be considered advantageous.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid work model with approximately 75% remote work.
• Preference for availability onsite on Wednesdays at the client's headquarters in Stockholm, although this is not a mandatory requirement.
