Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

• Design, develop, and enhance advanced Android applications and services in collaboration with global technology partners such as Google.
• Build new features and functionalities ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability across multiple Volvo brands.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the software development life cycle — from concept and design to deployment and production maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to define, design, and deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Implement robust testing strategies, including unit and integration testing, to ensure software quality and stability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by staying updated on the latest Android technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Support production operations and ensure successful delivery of applications with a focus on user experience and technical excellence.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Java and Kotlin.
• Proven knowledge of Android architecture patterns and modern design principles.
• Hands-on experience with development tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Artifactory.
• Strong understanding of software quality assurance and testing techniques, including JUnit and Espresso.
• Experience in Radio and Media application development is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
• A proactive, collaborative, and innovative mindset with a passion for new technologies.
